The XBE-12 features a handful of generational improvements including: - Upgraded Backlight (brighter, more colors, more adjustments) - Upgraded Case (more metal, less plastic, better angle) - Upgraded Feet ("stickier" on a table top, less likely to move accidentally) - BAA Compliant (Buy America Act) The XBE-12 is functionally very similar to the XK-12 and both will work with FluidPrompter. If you are buying new and don't already have a teleprompter jog and shuttle controller, we recommend the XKeys XBE-12. XKeys XK-12 (Classic Version) ----------------------------- The XK-12 is a classic control surface which has been on the market for a long time. This device is in wide spread use, and you may already have one in your gear pile. The XK-12 is functionally similar to the newer generation XBE-12 and is still available new, often for a slightly lower cost than the XBE-12. The XK-12 backlight is not as bright as the XBE-12 and has limited adjustability and color options with fixed blue and red LEDs in the top and bottom of each button.
